the welfare cash cow
Cheryl is 52, married with two children and works in retail. She is sick and tired of her tax money being squandered on welfare for people who have become dependant upon it and she is particularly angry about refugees and immigrants who come to her country to milk the welfare cash cow.
"Like America, Europe suffers under the myth of being a wealthy country when in fact it has as much if not more poverty than third-world nations," says Cheryl. "Poverty is just not as noticeable here as it is, say, in Africa or India. It is relative."
"Back in history, millions of people were moved off the land to work in the factories during the industrial revolution," says Cheryl, "and when the technological revolution replaced people with machines we are now left with many more millions of people living and breeding in slums and becoming totally dependent upon welfare."
"As I see it," says Cheryl, "the government is responsible for these people and rather than giving them welfare it should be sending them all back to the land where they can grow their own food and look after themselves."
"The welfare system, I believe, was originally set up in response to the abject misery suffered by a few people - the disabled and the elderly who couldn't work," says Cheryl. "Nobody minds helping people who can't help themselves, but to see able bodied men and women claiming welfare for all the ridiculous reasons they can get it these days is a total travesty of the system."
