cut foreign aid, charity begins at home

As just about every western country sinks in debt, the UK’s new Prime Minister, David Cameron, has announced his determination to cut government spending across the board and Allegra hopes that he decides to put a halt to all foreign aid because charity begins at home and right now the UK needs to take care of itself first and foremost.

“The UK is very generous with foreign aid – not just to the developing countries but to the EU as well,” says Allegra, “and now that the country has been run into the ground by the previous Labour government, Cameron needs to give priority to his own nation and give foreign aid the flick.”

“I believe that 90% of foreign aid is swallowed up in administration fees,” says Allegra, “and the little that does reach the countries needing aid more often than not ends up in the pockets of despots and their lackeys and never reaches those in need.”

“I also think it is disgusting that we give aid to countries that spend so much on weapons that they cannot afford to feed their people,” says Allegra. “Pakistan, India, the Middle East and most of Africa have some very wealthy people, getting wealthier than ever on our aid and it has to stop.”

“It is ridiculous that we give financial aid to countries that really do not need it when we don’t even have the money to give away,” says Allegra. “We borrow the money from China, and then spread it around, getting deeper and deeper into debt that is now so huge that your grandchildren and mine will be paying it off.”

“If Mr. Cameron balks at cutting foreign aid – preferring to cut welfare to the poor in his own country – then he is a fraud,” says Allegra. “Most people donate to charities at home and abroad, and it is unfair that their tax funds are then gouged by huge amounts being sent overseas in foreign aid.”

“Those who wish to support foreign aid should do so out of their own private funds rather than expect every taxpayer in the nation to do it for them,” says Allegra. “Charity begins at home, and our homeland is a mess, in huge debt, and if we don’t want to end up a charity case ourselves we need to support our people at home and let the filthy rich elite classes in developing nations take care of their own, too.”
